Its worth a look but you really can't complain about a game thats running for FREE...

User Rating: 8.8 | Flyff PC
With every game, there are problems so they fix it with patches or another version. Usually, you have to pay for that game, spend the time to download it and update the heck out of it. I'm not going to tell you that Flyff isn't any better because it isn't but YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT.

As of right now, the game has managed to upgrade from 1.6 to 1.7 (kind of like Counter-Strike way back when) and they haven't found the time to update that in the .exe file that you need to download to play the game so you will have to spend some time downloading the newest features. Outside from that, you are good to go.

After reading some of the reviews, I noticed a theme with the reviewer who gave this game a good rating and even with the reviewers who gave it a bad game which is "This game isn't bad for being free" which I have to say to them that they are correct. If you are starting out with MMO games and wish to not spend the money yet for WoW or Guild Wars, this game might be a good solution for now. The game starts out like any other where you choose a server to play and you make a character. You can be either a male or female and they don't have races to choose from (yet that is). Once you create that character, you are now ready to join the world of Flyff. Leveling is kind of simple for the first 15 when you get to your first class selection (it took me about 3 hours with no help to get from 1 to 15) and once you get past 15, it can be a bit harder to level up. Flyff's developers want you to be friends with everyone and become a nice community so they have this party system which will help with the grinding of the game become a bit more interesting. As your party level increases and your party fills up to the most it can get (8), the experience points can move much quicker then before. You can solo a lot and just do missions which helps with collecting of money and items a bit more but sometimes can lead to boring grinding and not as fun experience within the game.

The classes you can become at level 15 are Assist, Magician, Mercenary and Acrobat. From there, you need to level up to 60 to become a more advanced class from whatever class you choose at level 15. If your an Assist, you can be either a Ringmaster or Billposter. If you are a Magician, then you can be either a Psykeeper or Elementor. If you are a Mercenary, you can be either a Knight or Blade. If you are an Acrobat, you can be either a Ranger or Jester. Each class has its own advantages and disadvantages so I would advise picking a class that interests you the most and go from there. The community in flyff is mostly helpful but can be just like most games where there are kids who are jerks and are loners. I would advise joining a clan to make some friends or find some real friends who are willing to join the same server as you and you two (or more) can help each other out with leveling and maybe make your own clan.

They have a PvP server and area on every server you choose. The area on servers 1-3 are in the same location all the time and you don't have to fight there if you don't want to. The 4th server is a PK (player-killing) server which means you can be killed anywhere outside from city gates (where the monsters are located and such). Its nice if you have a high level char. and you get bored so you want to kill others but be warned that there are penalties to being a PK player but on that server, its just legal.

The gameplay is like any other MMO out there so there isn't much to talk about in this category. If you like the controls of this game, you will be ready for those like WoW and Guild Wars.

Graphics are nice for a free MMO and have some nice areas to look at. They are expanding the map as we speak so there will be even more areas to travel and see once they are done. If you don't like the cartoon-ish type games, this game isn't for you because it can be at times.

The sound is ok and the SFX (Sound Effects) for me are good but like most games that I play, I don't like the music. Some will say otherwise but I personally don't like the music most game bring out so I mute it and listen to my music on my computer (or listen to the news/ESPN on TV).

If you read this review, you will see that this game is still worth trying for the first time gamer and for those who have explored MMO's before this. Even with the childish animation and site, this game can be for those in high school and those games in the business world. I hope you enjoyed my review and enjoy the game!
