Mostly hype, has good features but not really worthy of being a pack.

From the first announcement this has been a highly pushed item. After trying it however this just does not pan out. The add on aircraft are completely devoid of 2d panels, forcing users that want to use these aircraft and have decent frame rates with high graphics to find 3rd party panels to make use of them. A majority of the pack is slanted to racing along with new scenery for this. For those more interested in flying rather than air racing this only serves to cause graphics problems and take up drive space with no gain. The inclusion of functioning carriers is great and would nearly make the pack worth it by itself. However even in the SDK that comes with it there is no clue on how to add a launch bar to 3rd party aircraft, causing only the included F18 to truly be carrier usable and have to wait for others to come out, throwing away all the current ones users might have. [EDIT] There has been publised a way to modify exhisting 3rd party aircraft for launchbar support so they will work with the carrier operations features now. Apart from the possibly SP2 related changes to the game engine, a great deal of this is a mission pack. Which, while fun to play them, limits the scope of playability with this pack. Overall, you can get nearly everything in this pack for free downloads and often even more capabilities than in this pack. For example, not only having functional carriers, but cat and trap with any aircraft you want. Also the ability to have full moving ships anywhere with basic control over their movement (right, left, stop, forward) and what direction to go to find them. There are some very good features in this, but not really worthy of an expansion pack for the price but rather should have been released as part of SP2.
