This is the game which brought Roy into the SSBM, and also got a prequel. So how come that this game is so special? To begin with, the main story is about a world war started by Bern (the biggest country in the world Elibe). Bern has invaded several countries and is now invading Lycia Alliance (a country shared by many lords, like German-Romance States). Lord Eliwood (ruler of Pheare) was intend to be the commander of the Lycia Alliance army after lord Hector, who got captured by Bern, fell ill and his son Roy (studying in Ositia) had to take his place instead. 15 year old boy Roy takes on the army (that is almost beaten down) and tries to struggle back Bern. The story follows on, and later changes.

The game is in turn base like chess, but with less or more "pieces" (depending the chapter) professional with classes such as dark magic wielding Shamans, sword specialists Myrmidons an so on, that you move around in a big geographic area cover by different climates, normal, snow, open fields, in cites or inside castles. You have different commands to decide what you wish your "pieces" to do, rescue, and trade with others, wait, attack, and support. Your train their weapon skills based on a grade where E is lowest and S is the highest, and leveling them up, and evolve them into new classes. You also need to be aware of the things limits as they can brake when used, and not be short on money as you need to buy new stuffs. Units can attack in far or close combat, once or twice or even four times at the same enemy each turns, and can also land a critical hit which is 3 times the normal attack, or use staves to heal your party or use it against enemy. The same is with the enemies. This is the first time in the Fe-series where you get a bonus in status between does that are supporting each other in play. You will play through plenty of chapters that always give you a challenge, and always will get frustrated when things don't go as you wish. The game has three endings depending on how you have handled with your actions. You will meet some old character from Fe 7 and new ones (which some has relations to Fe 7, like Kleine and Clarine, who are Pents and Louises children). Some characters are cool, some are dull, and some you wished you never had in the group (it's a question of taste). The Villains, well you either like them or you don't (it's a question of taste here again).
Some people have played the prequel, Fe 7, which happens before Roy was born, and tasted for the first time the passion of Fe-series. There are quiet differences between those games. You have fewer classes in Fe6, one lord Roy instead of three, different weapons that some only exist in this game and some don't, like Aircaliber (in Fe 7 it was a S-ranked magic, in 6 it's C-leveled specialized in taking down Wyverns.), animation of ballista in Fe 6. New enemy reinforcements appear and move.
The game offers quite of thinking before making a decision, it's hard to defeat the bosses except, well I won't go father there since I don't want to spoil, has an out of the ordinary story that drags you easily in to it, highly addictive (always want to now what happens next), and then there is Roy (Roy is our boy). After beating the story, you get rewarded with link battle which you can use your own units from the story mode to battle each other off or against your friends though the G.B.A link-cable, sound room same as Fe7, and also Trail map, which puts you in a trail. (No support conversation view though as you had in Fe7, a shame.)

Now I have studied a lot about Fe-series and looked around how they are and some also played (of course including this game). Things I miss in this game are;

*Be able to add skills which you can do in some other Fe games
*Choose which upgrade class you wish to have (had that in Fe 8)
*Add does missing classes
*Evolve your units 2 times
*Have higher hp, 60 is to low
*Change the critical hit to two times, since three is too much.

In overall it's a good game far better the Fe7, offering challenge, out of remarkable story, and a fun game if you get in to it.

Hope you have enjoyed reading this review and got interested in getting this game.
