Ahh old school! Nothing like beating up some people and walking to the right. If only this was the Arcade version.

Wow, does censorship suck! As do the limitation of the SNES. This game is still very much a classic, it's been reviewed to death, its very likely no one is reading my review so why am I writing one. Because... because a long time ago I loved this game a lot it was one of the best games ever.
Obviously my opinion has matured and the game has not, I want to talk about my recent experience with it and not my past love affair.
This game has serious flaws most of which like the censorship I mentioned earlier, some abbreviated animations and so forth. If you want to know more about the game there is a highly informative site http://finalfight.classicgaming.gamespy.com/mainmenu.html where you can go and find out. This is my little corner where I get to rant.

The crippling problem this game has is that it becomes very boring around the third level or so and you can't save unless your using an emulator so your forced to keep playing or turn the console off. If you take the blue pill then you remain unplugged Haggar goes away and you can forget about the fight and go back to a normal life. If you choose the red pill, well why are you picking the red pill honestly You don't really want to stay plugged in the latter levels aren't actually harder your just bored and losing focus. Its all a trick of the mind. Don't go down the rabbit hole!

Thats what this game is like it is exactly like the matrix you start playing it, very cool then you get distracted by the girl in the red dress, who in the SNES version has had a sex change operation and goes by the name of Billy, and then it's like the second Matrix and the third one, and it sucks. It sucks as much as those movies did!

If you have a SNES lying around or an FC Twin then this is likely a nostalgia purchase. This goes for Wii owners too.

One last word on this game as well as the beat'em up genre Capcom's beat'em ups are better than any Konami beat'em. That goes for this game as well, I don't care how much you like 'The Simpsons' or the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' or the 'X-men,' they don't hold a candle, in terms of game play. The character are what make them so memorable, and Konami held top notch licenses.
