I expected more

User Rating: 8 | Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster PS3

This remaster probably was the most awaited ever and took the longest to deliver (to the western world)?

FFX is one of my favorite games regardless platform but I only first played it in 2012!

Of course I was expecting this remaster and couldn't wait but unfortunately I find it a bit disappointing. In short:

- I expected more graphically

- I don't like the remastered music

- It has loading times and they are annoying!

I've never been a graphics whore but I honestly expected a lot more - I was sure they would completely redo the characters and the world, use some antialising and what not. In the end however turns out they didn't even replace all the textures! Like the Aeon textures for example. I remember how people in forums were talking about how awesome the Aeons will look. Nope, tough luck! They look exactly the same, just a bit sharper.

But the game still looks great of course, it's just not like shifting from 240p to 1080p but more like shifting from 480p to 720p - noticable but not that impressive. Lulu's chest looks exactly the same if you were wondering.

The music - the original music is adorable but for the remaster they went with more real instruments and I think they chose the wrong path, but I guess it's a matter of taste.

The loading times - let me remind you that the original PS2 version has almost no loading times. The remaster has a lot of them and while they are not long they are still very annoying and break the immersion. I can live with the graphics and the music but those loading times - if that is the price to pay for the HD treatment then I'd rather be playing the PS2 version for the 3rd time.

But having said all that I don't regret buying this remaster, although I think the right price would be 20 usd like it was with Okami HD. Because FFX-2 isn't worth sh.
