Well this is interesting. So what are we to call this game? 10-2 or X-2? Either way, it's not that bad of a game...

Well, we Americans always hate cliff hangers so getting an ending to the story of Final Fantasy X is nice but it's kind of out of the norm for Square Enix. None the less, they still made it a great game worthy of the name 'Final Fantasy'. For one thing, it's the first Final Fantasy I've seen in a long time where you have only enough characters to fill your party and that's all. You don't have 7 to 10 characters that you switch out to level up, just 3 characters. And it's kind of nice that two of the characters, Yuna and Rikku, are already established as known characters. You still have the one mystery character, Paine, and both Yuna and Rikku have a few new character perks. And even though they've already been through their own Final Fantasy, they got to develop even more in this game.
The game play and skill system are more interesting too particularly because A: the skill system actually has a part in the story line and B: it's a lot like the old crystal system with a new name and twist. The dress-sphere skill and ability system is just what the crystal system was just with a cool perk in that you can change classes in the middle of battle, so the job of choosing what classes to have becomes much easier. And just like the crystals, the dress-spheres actually take an active role in the story line. It's the dress-sphere that starts the Gullwings on the quest to find out why it's connected to certain events happening and is used in the ending as well. I will say, It takes a bit of getting use to and a little tactical knowledge but beyond that, it's easy to use and enjoy. It may be a continuation off a previous story but Final Fantasy X-2 can actually stand for itself, without the need of it's predecessor.
