final fantasy vii changed my life. i didnt realize that until now. it got be back into videogames, which is now an integral part of my nerdy life. the first time i played final fantasy vii was at a friends house. this guy could not get past a robot boss in the shinra elevator. surprisingly, i defeated the boss on my first attempt. and then i was hooked. i basically took over his game and ruined it for him because i was playing it to death. after a while i got my own playstation so i could really get into the game. the aspect of final fantasy vii that intrigued me the most was the battle system and management of weapons, etcetera. i would fight every random encounter, as i was eager to level up. i learned about basics like restoring hp and mp, as well as the more meticulous options, such as, equipping materia to weapons and armor. all of these elements of final fantasy vii were standards of role playing games, which i had never experienced prior. so i was opened up to a whole new type of videogame. astonishment aside, final fantasy vii is a fun game with an engaging story with complex characters, great visuals [for the time], memorable audio, diversified gameplay, and extraordinary replay value [i beat final fantasy vii three times, and each time i maxed out stats as well as the in-game clock at 99:99 hours]. i hold final fantasy vii in a high regard since it managed to attract attention from those who had no interest in the genre, platform, or medium. even after years since its release, final fantasy vii is highly influential in the videogame industry. i remember final fantasy vii as a great experience in my revived videogame career. however, i hope that final fantasy viis success drives its developer [square] to exceed the accomplishment and to create an rpg experience as memorable, epic, addicting, influential, and enjoyable.
