Wow i havent even finished the first cd yet and im stunned. I cant believe im not even 1/3 finished with this game. I mean i put in over 17 hours. This game has hands down so far the greatest storlyline of any game..ever! And i havent even finished the game yet and i can already tell this game is a great one. This game starts of slow with a shallow story of cloud and a group called avalanche trying to destroy the mako reactors that are suckin up the planets energy. The combat is pretty unique and intense though. Limit breaks and a unique kind of real time gameplay that ive never seen in a final fantasy game are pretty cool. You have a meter that is sort of a time measuring thingy that fills up as time goes then when its full you can attack use and item or cast a spell and later you can summon monsters and other stuff.I kinda like how its real time unlike in most rpgs where you have time to decide what to do and in ff7 you have to make split second decisions once your time meter is full or the enemy will attack you or another member of your party. Limit breaks are possible when you character is attacked to an extent that the limit meter fills up. Whenever youre attacked you limit meter fills up a little and when its full boom limit break time. Limit breaks vary between characters like Cloud has offensive limit breaks like braver and cross slash while Aeris has healing wind which heals your whole party a considerable amount. Each chracter is very unique in personality and they serve a crucial part in the stroy.. well at least most of them do. 2 hidden characters dont serve as crucial a part i can imagine because they are completely optional. 2 of the characters cloud and sepiroth have become icons in the gaming world because they are both so bad @$$. You cant help but think how awesome it is to see cloud bust out of shinra headquarters right through the window and how cool its is to watch sepiroth stare at cloud in the flaming inferno that is clouds home town with a look of pure hatred on his face and slowly walk back into the shinra mansion with a trail of destruction in his wake. The evil that Sepiroth has comitted is horrible yet you know hes really good and think its not his fault its not his fault. The graphics are great and are definetly the best graphics i have ever seen for a game of its time the cutscenes are almost comparable to ps2 graphics its amazing and the battle animations are great although when your walking and you look at cloud and other people your can definetly tell how bland they look compared to the stunning detail of the enviroments. In conclusion this is the greatest rpg i have ever played and it is 10x better than ff10 even im sure if there would be more rpgs like this it would become a much more popular genre.
