One person to change the world...

User Rating: 9.6 | Final Fantasy VI SNES
Final Fantasy 3 sure wasn't my first Final Fantasy to play through. I had already played Final Fantasy VII, which was a masterpiece. Nevertheless, I had great expectations when I first started to play the game. At first it seemed to be an ordinary SNES -rpg with lousy graphics and such, but after I the story got deeper, it unfolded.

Many of the events rally around a girl named Terra, who has an epic destiny in the world that is facing. She has some roots no-one else has. At least she's not alone, since there are many brave warriors to help her achieve the goal together! The treasure hunter Locke, an Imperial general Celes and the king of the castle Figaro, just to name a few. There are so many characters with their own tales, which really makes this game feel like some kind of a novel. Great.

Very well, the story of the game is a progressing one. By that I mean that the final goal is not clear in the beginning of the game, instead it changes it's shape various times. This keeps the game pretty refreshing. Also, there's no real main character in the game, and there are many playable characters which is also a good plus into the game. Rock on!

What is needed for a good RPG? Well, many characters, many enemies, lots of equipment and secrets to be founded. I think that's pretty much, and the larger the world is, the better. FF3 is one the largest RPG's there is for SNES, and it can be considered large even in today's measures.

The graphics are very good, since it's only SNES. Very smooth VGA, though I would have liked to see real fighting animations instead of those stupid "air slashes", but I guess that would have taken too much from the machine. Maybe, probably not. They should have seen Chrono Trigger, it has the most intriguing fighting animations. In FF3, especially the enemies are very good looking, and extremely especially the boos sprites look very smooth and clear. I liked them.

Not to forget sounds, since this one's the best you can get for SNES, and I'm talking about the music! The music has been composed by the great Nobuo Uematsu and gosh, it sounds so beautiful and it truly keeps up the atmosphere. I was astonished when first time heard the real world map music. It was just so...amazingly beautiful. Well done, Nobuo. You hit the jackpot!

This game could be considered as a milestone of its age. It should be played by every RPG fan that there is, since this really so good, and I can only give my warm recommendations. Step on, and release the marvelous experience!

These are a little tight, but the price was right.
