While it has some charm, you've played this game dozens of times before...

There's not a lot to say here... it's like "Final Fantasy Light". Very basic turn-based combat, typical overworld-leads-to-dungeons-and-small-towns exploration, rote character buffing via equipment, plucky teenage characters united against a great evil, etc.

The story starts out with more cliche than any you've played in a while... there's no attempt at being creative or unique. The story, as it skips along, offers no surprises.

Now, all those grumpy things said, there's nothing really _wrong_ with any of it. The visuals are large, colorful, well animated, and cartoony. The music is forgettable, but fine. There's a decent variety in dungeons, monsters, and equipment to find.

But again, it's nothing you haven't played dozens of times before.

The good:
* Bright, colorful and well done visuals
* Solid, though basic, game mechanics for folks that like traditional turn-based RPGing.

The not so good:
* Forgettable music
* The plot line is about as unique and interesting as a glass of water.
* Very simplistic combat system -- targets of attacks, spells, and even your own helper potions, are automatically chosen by the system, so there's greatly reduced strategy

If you love love love JRPGs, it's a solid choice. If you're after something unique or fresh, give it a miss.
