It's some classic RPG adventuring, get to it if you have a DS
The targetting system is probably the only thing that is not forthright with the game. Spells will tell you if they prioritize front targets vs back targets. Ranged weapons and spears will target back targets over front targets, while swords axes and up close melee weapons target front targets first. Ok past that point, the strategy to the game is cautiousness pays off. If you try to blast through the game without talking to towns folks for tips and hints about quests you will get blasted by the game. The sandboss is hard if you just run your way up to him, i figured that out the hard way. Instead i did a little more investigating and talked with people in the town.
What makes the game unique is that all of the things are in the game you have to be diligent to find them and utilize them. So this game requires a bit of cautious as i stated before.
Story . . . well i'm not that far into it yet, but it is fulfilling each chacter exudes a certain persona that is easy to identify and relate. the Crown(job) system is familiar yet different, and it intigrates strongly into the story so far as a driving point.
Gameplay . . . fun, i enjoyed boss battles and monster battles. You can not take any fight simply, unless you have outleveled an area, which for me has not happened yet.
Graphics . . . nicely put and light. The way the map unfolds as you move across it on the big map and in towns is unique and refreshing.
Music . . . is pretty good and helps set the tone for the game.
Overall I give it a 9.5 because it is a lot of fun, just have patience with it, don't expect a simple button mashing game, FF has never really just been a button mashing easy to just run through franchise.
I recommend this game (not that I'm anyone important or anything).
