Some fail to notice this masterpiece, and they're seriously missing out.

If overlooking this game was a sin, well... there would be plenty of sinners in this world, now, wouldn't there?

I thought that it had a VERY good story overall, a couple of twists every now and then, but it was enjoyable. The gameplay was a little repetitive to the previous FF games, but It was still very good. The music was great (as you would expect from any FF game) and the graphics were stunning. It was definitely the best looking of all the PSX Final Fantasy games I've ever played.

You play as a young man named Zidane, who originally is on a mission to kidnap Princess Garnet of Alexandria, as he is part of a team of theives called Tantalus. However, it turns into an epic journey to save the world, with heroes, villains, romance, etc.

You'll really like the characters once you get to know them, because everyone has their own unique personality and their own outlook on life.

Mini-games in this game include raising a Chocobo to dig up treasure (which is an extremely tedious mini-game but you get some REALLY good prizes from it) There is also the card game, as was in Final Fantasy 8.

The only way to truly appreciate this game is to play it. So, what are you waiting for? Head on to your local game store and pick up Final Fantasy IX!
