Back to old school Final Fantasy. Square has pulled it off nicely.
Final Fantasy IX is a trip back to the roots of RPG gaming. The characters are each unique and have their own skills based on the equipment you equip them. This leveling system is a pretty neat idea because you learn your skills from the weapon or armor and then once it is learned it is applied for good. The story itself is not as good as FFVII or FFVIII but it is still worth it. There are lots of fun mini-games to do and plenty of places to discover.
Just like FFVII and FFVIII. Amazing.
The music in this game also goes back to the old school which is very good.
FFIX is well worth playing with a pretty good story and lots of neat things to do. It is 70+ hours of old school RPG amazement.
