I fell in love with Cecil ... or his voice

User Rating: 9 | Final Fantasy IV DS
This was the first game I have ever bought in the final fantasy series after having faith in the reviews and scores obtained here on Gamespot. I am glad I did and was not disapointed at all. Although I am not a fan of monster grinding or random monster encounters, somehow the characters are all so loveable and the story so engaging that it became bearable.

The amazing thing about this game is the wonderful video clips complete with voices that are interspersed at key points in the story. The plot is full of twists and turns and keeps you guessing to the end of the extremely satisfying ending.

The menu is at first confusing but once learnt makes equipping people quite easy. Unlike other games, where I am extremely poor and have to keep going out to kill other monsters to buy better equipment, somehow I landed up with quite a lot of dough especially towards the end of the game.

One important aspect is to keep hunting for augments which are special abilities you can bestow on your characters. This can make or break a battle sometimes and the number of augments and the restriction on how many you can activate at a time makes you want to re-play the game a few times.

I would highly recommend it to any RPG fans, even those who have never played the series. Although I soon bought and played FF XII after this one, IV still has the lasting impression on me.
