This is the Game that Every RPG strives to be.

There is no doubt that there is debate in regards to which is the greatest RPG of all time, but when I look over my collection there is nothing that comes close to Final Fantasy Two, For its time the storyline was fantastic, one twist and turn after another, interesting characters, interesting side quests and very little of this bring item A to Hut B to get Item C side quests alot of the more modern RPG's have. What made this game all the more challenging was the lack of choice you had about which characters you brought into which battle, Which led to the player actually having to build up their party and equiped each member of the party. The Weapon and Armor selection were almost revolutionary at the time with no clear cut "Best" weapon at most stages of the game, the player could pick and chose what they felt was most effective in a given situation. This game will not appeal to the post FF VII crowd, because it actually requires the gamer to follow clues and to pay very close attention to details when solving some aspects of the game or trying to unlock a new area, in some case it may leave you flying circles around the overworld wondering what to do next or what to do with an item you have in your inventory, there are also enough side quests that will keep most RPGers pulling their hair out (Like getting the "Imp" or "Bomb" Call Spells) but enough to do in the mean time that it is not frustrating. This is a game that is truly worth re-visiting, because it is evolution point of RPG's and an instant classic, -Z
