With added difficulties and many new features, this game really stands out amongst other great DS titles.

User Rating: 8 | Final Fantasy IV DS
Final Fantasy IV was the very first game in the Final Fantasy series that I picked up around Christmas of 2005, after it was ported to the GBA.

I instantly fell in love with this game, I just couldn't put it down. Though as I went on to play later titles such as Final Fantasy VI and VII, the love that I had for this game sort of died down...

...until it was remade for the DS.

'Final Fantasy IV' (originally 'Final Fantasy II' when first released in the United States) follows the story of Cecil, a dark knight from the kingdom of Baron who starts to question his king's motives after he is sent to ruthlessly claim the four crystals of the world from other nations.

When I used to play this game for the GBA, I thought the difficulty was just right, if not a bit harder; though this remake brings it to a whole new level. If I didn't know any better, I would say that this is the hardest Final Fantasy game that I've ever played (although Final Fantasy has always been a fairly mild series in terms of difficulty).

Besides a good challenge, this remake also has a New Game+ feature, which could keep you playing for hours on end. Along with that, this game introduces Augments, special abilities that you collect along your journey that you can equip to your party members.

Graphics: Some of the best that I've seen on a DS game, if not -the- best.

Story: I would say that this story is what really got the Final Fantasy series going, as the three previous installments lacked such things as character development.

Soundtrack: Nice, but not amazing. There are a few tracks that stand out (such as the boss theme and the final battle theme), but aside from that, it's very forgettable.

Overall: 8.0. This game isn't one to ignore if you own a DS; it's definitely worth buying for the $20 price tag.
