I needed a good classic RPG game, and Final Fantasy III didn't let me down!

User Rating: 9 | Final Fantasy III DS
After playing countless new RPG's for the ps3 and xbox, I realized that what I really wanted to play, was an old-school type of RPG, so, after about 4 years, of my DS collecting dust in my closet in a box, I finally broke it out, to play some classics, and FInal Fantasy III was the first out of many to come my way. Nothing beats the good ole feeling of beating a classic hard game, like the first Final Fantasy game ever, a good game that's challenging. FF3, is challenging, but for veterans of the series, will know exactly who they need in their party to get the job done, so let's jump into this intense classic style game!

Story:
The usual, there is an unbalance of dark over light, so the light as chosen four guardians, being you, your friend, and two others. So, you go around trying to acquire the strength of the crystals, which there are four. Which are the basic elements. Of course, there are side stories, such as, helping out a party guest figure out his destiny, you know, the basic FF series stuff.

The graphics:
Being on the DS, I was kinda worried that it wasn't going to be comfortable, because it's kind of small, but I was wrong. Even with the graphics, they look awesome being re-done. It's everything you can want from a FF series game. The best part are the monster designs, they tend to be very detailed in what they look like and same with your own characters.

Sound:
Honestly, I am not a fan of the DS, and the music that comes out of most of the games. So, I usually mute it, I don't have any sound because it doesn't sound the greatest. The Psp has better sound quality than the DS... sorry DS owners!

Gameplay:
This is the best part that wins me over. The Re-introduction of the job system is everything I can ask for when it comes to down right classic game styles!!!! There are a total of 32 different classes, which most veterans would know off by heart, so I wont say them all, if anything, read your instruction booklet because that's where most of them are. Also, the ability to equip 2 handed weapons for each character is awesome! I wish they would bring that back for new games because it is awesome, I never use a shield and a sword, it's always dualies!
The game is really easy to get into, but with the job system, if you decide to pick certain ones that you think are beneficial, than do it, but sometimes you really need to switch them around to make sure they have the whole variety that will benefit the group, not just the individual party member.

Overall:
If you are looking for a flash from the past, than FF 3 is definitely the best there is to offer. If you are just a fan of the series, than it's another reason to pick it up. No matter which way you look at it, this game will not disappoint you in anyway at all!

Happy Gaming!
