FInal Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles is a sight to behold by any GameCube user... perhaps by any non-GameCube user. It is also probably the most underappreciated game to date.

I find it interesting that Square-Enix turned to the Action-RPG genre with it's GameCube premiere of Final Fantasy. It's a breath of fresh air to Final Fantasy afficionado's everywhere, like myself, who just need a break from the old days of random, turn-based combat. The combat in the game can, yes, get a little annoying with having to switch between your command list from "Attack" mode to "Defend" mode. But Square managed to pull off an addictive, eye-candy title in Crystal Chronicles. For the game to be as old as it is (Seeing as it's 2007), the graphics are just a sight to be seen. The characters are both well rendered and detailed, as is the game world/surroundings themselves.

Crystal Chronicles would be enjoyable by so many gamers, if only they where able to let go of thier pride for the FF Games of old, and try something a little new, and original. I would recommend this game to anyone looking for a way to kill a weeks worth of after-work evenings, and to anyone wanting to play something as fun and original as Crystal Chronicles. Play the game... you might be suprised.
