This game is pretty awesome, EA is pretty lame though.

I'm gonna split this review in two because I don't want to get biased mixing different things.

The game:
There's mainly two big modes in this game, story mode and career mode, of course there's also versus mode but we all know what that's about do we?
Story mode is pretty good, mixing fights, some of them with handicaps, with a decent history.
The story is not as good as most boxing films, but still it's pretty entertaining, and the final fight , let me tell you, is one of those OMG THIS IS SO UNFAIR boss fights, it has been ages since i faced a boss like this one, he basically can ko you with one lucky punch.

Now, with the career mode i'm half happy, going up the ranks and defeating champions is fun, and you can even going up a weight class, but still it could have offered so much more:
-What about starting on a country, then going to the world rank?
-Why can't i put overpowered boxers in career mode, it should be the players choice to make the game unbalanced or not.
-I don't really see any difference in my boxer having gained 10 years and thousands of punches to the face.
-You can't choose any weight/height (like a fatty flyweight), i know this is made for realism but again this should be the player's choice.
-You can't go up more than one class.

I think they didn't risk enough with this game, another example would be the limitations in the physics of the game, they are fine, but they have limits so you can't do crazy stunts.
Example: A guy that weights a lot more than you throws a megapunch to your face, and the reaction of the body obviously lacks, I guess that's again made for realism, because you could end up doing some crazy jumps, but it feels stupid when everybody falls the same way, no matter how hard the punch was.

But here's the big good point of the game, the gameplay itself, is solid, funny, and makes each fight unique and exciting, you can basically do everything possible in boxing, including fouls.
(But no ear-biting.)

Now a mini rant:

Why do they try to sell me stuff inside the game? It's bad enough that they make you pay for things that are already in the game (like bareknuckles boxing, you can do it in the story mode, so there's no excuse) but they rub their products in your face, basically putting a prize tag over each boxer that you can't play in the game, unless you pay of course.
How can you treat a costumer like this? It's infuriating.
Every time I played this game, it tried to log me into EA store at least twice, it made me sick.
But I'm sure there's a good team behind this game, that was probably added by greedy business man that haven't touched a console in their lives.

End of rant.
