If you want Fifa, streetstyle, you'd better just take out your PS2 and play Fifa Street 2 again.

User Rating: 6 | FIFA Street 3 PS3
I've always been a fan of the Fifa series. When I bought Fifa Street, I was amazed at it's sheer coolness. Then there was the sequel, which was even cooler than the original. And then... there's this abomination of mankind.

Story - 1.0
Now, usually it would be weird to include the story into the rating of a sports game. However, the two prequels did have some kind of story, if only to get the game started. In Fifa Street 3, there's nothing. So, I can't really rate it anything else but a 1.0.

Modes - 5.0
As you could read above, there is no story. What that means is, there's no custom character, there's no team for you to form, and there's no real goal to achieve, other than winning every chain of matches and unlocking new teams. That takes a lot of the fun out of it, especially since that is pretty much the only singleplayer mode you get, and there aren't really a lot of matches to play. There are a lot of multiplayer modes though, but nothing that hasn't been done before, so nothing you wouldn't expect. Of course, you can't really expect anything from this game, but you get my point.

Gameplay - 6.5
While the game itself is incredibly lacking, the gameplay shows that the game did have some potential in it. The controls are slick, and not really hard, but once again, some basic stuff was taken out, and it doesn't benefit the game. Slidings have been taken out, and been replaced with a somewhat odd move. The player just ducks and stretches his leg, so of course you won't be able to rely on that much when you want to take down an opponent. All you can really do is charge at a player full-speed and hope for the best. Also, the trick points are gone. That means that each match is about scoring goals again, the only variation you get is that sometimes you have to score in a certain way. And speaking about tricks, that IS a big part of street football. And once again, the game is lacking. I'd be surprised if even a quarter of the ammount of moves from Fifa Street 2 is in this game. In short, the formula is good, and this could have worked, but they shouldn't have scratched that many things. It's like you're playing a demo for Pete's sake.

Graphics - 8.0
Well, pretty much everybody knows the deal about the graphics in this game. The realistic look has been thrown overboard, and been replaced by a cartoony look. It's a bit strange at first, especially when you've only seen a trailer, because that shows 5Gatusso, Ronaldinho, Crouch, Rooney etc., and those are really the most absurd players in the game. Others, like Cesc Fabregas for instance, look pretty normal, yet still cartoonish. Overall, it's a nice change, and definitely one of the better aspects of this game. Err, demo.

Sound - 8.0
Leave it to EA to gather a great soundtrack for a game, especially the Fifa games. EA Trax is always a succes for me. There's usually only two or three songs I don't like. And once again, EA delivers.

Other
It's kinda becoming a habit of me to involve Trophies in this little paragraph. I might as well make that a point too.. Ah well. In this game, there are no trophies. Maybe it's because nobody really wants anybody on PSN to see that they've played this game, I don't know. Anywho, what you do get, are these lame achievements. Seriously. There are four achievements, and you can score a bronze, silver, and gold medal for each one. Most of this stuff is accomplished just by playing the few matches that the game offers in it's singleplayer mode anyway! And yeah. Usually I would've mentioned a little something about customization in here too, but since there is absolutely no customization here, other than what ball to play with, I'll end the review right now. Basically, the game is nothing like it's predecessors, and it doesn't draw any benefit from that.

End Score
(1.0+5.0+6.5+8.0+8.0)/5=5.7, which makes for a 6.0.
