User Rating: 9.5 | FIFA Street 2 PS2
Soccer is a game made up of finite details. It's a slow paced, methodical sport where kicking the ball at a forty-six degree angle rather than a forty-five can mean the difference between hoisting a World Cup over your shoulders or trudging home in defeat. Speaking of scoring, when that ball finally finds its way into the net it's not a highlight like in football or basketball, it's an event. Now that we've got a clear idea of what the sport of soccer entails, let's be clear about one thing; FIFA Street 2 is definitely not soccer. Yes, there's a ball and yes, the ball occasionally finds its way to the back of the goal but rest assured, the action you see on the screen is anything but a typical game of soccer. Now whether or not the game is able to transcend the sport and present a meaningful and fun gameplay experience is another question entirely, but we assure you that by the end of this review you'll have the answer.

Gameplay

The basic premise of FIFA Street hasn't changed in this, the second iteration. Players still create their own baller and put them on a traveling trio of soccer playing nomads who wonder the corners of the globe looking for the best and brightest soccer challenges. Rather than dubbing this mode the standard "career mode" FIFA Street 2 gives it the '80s gangster movie treatment with the "Rule the Streets" moniker. Still, it's where you'll find the real meat and potatoes of the game; at least if you're playing by yourself, but like most Street games FIFA Street 2 is best enjoyed with a few Guys.
