Best FIFA game out yet, totally unlike its predecessors

User Rating: 8 | FIFA Soccer 11 PC
FIFA11 is totally unlike its predecessors. FIFA06, 07, 08, 09 and 10 had a lot in common including game play, manager mode settings, etc. etc. with basically only the roster and few updates to the later versions. FIFA11 on the other hand, is totally different.

FIFA11 is clearly the most realistic FIFA game to date. The passing, the shooting, the tackling, almost everything feels real. If Starcraft2 gets a 9.5 rating, for a strategy game thats nearly the same as LOTR-BFME2 or some games out some years ago, FIFA clearly deserves atleast a 9.0 because the game physics are awesome. The details in the game are great, while crossing, the position of the player is important, etc.

The Manager Mode has changed a lot compared to FIFA10. Its more realistic where you actually have to think before buying players, and top players can't be as easily bought as in the previous versions. Experience earned by players per match contributes a lot to their growth as well. The old Player Growth curve has changed.

9.0 rating isn't the same as 9.5 or 10 ratings. So it does have some bad parts to it. I'd say the commentary is not top notch. Andy Gray is okay, but the Tyler guy normally says 'This team' or 'that player' too often, and almost never says the name of the team or the player. Though the historical facts thrown here and there are a good addition, like the Anfield one, or the Wembley one. Though playing an International match and hearing about the Stoke City/Newcastle Crowd certainly sounds wrong!

Since I played the PC version, the game is obviously built for console, since you have to tweak your keys to match those on consoles as the game really doesn't tell you which key is for what, rather what key on your keyboard matches the key of the console. So its hard to set the keyboard.

But all in all, a great game, a treat for all football (the real football) fans.
