A Sequel Many Awaited That Does Have Its Faults But Still A Fun Ride

User Rating: 7 | F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin X360
F.E.A.R 2 many expected to beat its predecessor, it didn't but it put up a worthy attempt. Graphics have improved from the original and so has gameplay, maybe the horror theme and sheer eeriness of the original was lost in this sequel.
Anyhow F.E.A.R 2 succeeds in giving us a fun and enjoyable gaming experience, worthy of buying either brand new or from the bargain bucket.
Gun battles are fun, and for fans of the original F.E.A.R 2 continues the tragic dark tale of Alma.

You follow from the original in the destroyed city, after the Pointman from the original triggered a city wide explosion destroying the city.
Now as a totally new character in the same time frame, you battle your way through the burning rubble of the city to fight Alma and the Replica forces with new weapons and abilities. So you get the feel of post-Apocalypse.

The Good:

- Graphics are updated, and are more modern being not a ported version from the PC like the original was.
- The plot thickens, with Amia's reign of terror hitting new heights following the original's finisher.
- Shootouts are still fun and hectic, with the use of slow-motion in the mix.
- Mech sequences are a new, which were non-existent in the original make an appearance and a change of pace.

The Bad:

- Random scares are nothing new, and really lose focus and power through the game. Even some of the well scripted scenes, do not give you the scares after a few hours of playing already.
- Its nothing new, which seems to be common among most games nowadays.

Unlike its original the atmosphere seems flat, or not as eerie as it once was. Regardless for those just looking for a fun and exciting gaming experience F.E.A.R 2 is well worth the price or from the pre-owned section. Give it a go, it may not be the original or indeed maybe not having followed it through well its still a fun game.
