Farm ville is a very boring and shallow flash game to play on Facebook.
Graphics - The graphics in Farm ville are passable, but the animation is abysmal. Your character only moves about two to three frames, and he/she doesn't show any emotions or even speak at all. Like when you farm a crop, he/she will just move to the direction you planted your crops. Overall the graphics could have been a lot better, but the environments look bright, sharp, colorful, and childish. Just don't expect Farm ville to look like an epic Zelda game. It's merely a computer flash game with very little animation.
Sound - The music is alright, but the same track constantly loops every time you play this game. The music does fit suitably because it feels like a relaxing, country theme music. It's just that there isn't much variety to the music. The sound effects are nonexistent, which means there aren't any sound effects.
Game play - You control your character by pointing and clicking the mouse button over and over again. There really isn't any game play to this because all you can do is farm crops, decorate your farm, and send gifts to your neighbors. It's very tedious and shallow to play as Tom McShea might say about Farm ville. Note: You may be disappointed when your crops die frequently, and you have to play it often in order to take care of your crops.
Lasting appeal - You can't play Farm ville directly with your friends, but you can send them gifts and visit their farms. Unfortunately, all you can do is fertilize some of their territory. Overall, I would not recommend playing Farm ville.
The good - simulates farming on a virtual farm, can add Facebook friends as neighbors and send them gifts, free to play at first
The bad - character customization is limited, have to pay real money to buy certain items and revive your coin meter, horrific animation, music is limited, sound effects don't exist, and game play is repetitive and shallow
