A 40 hour joyride on paradise island with lots to kill.

User Rating: 9 | Far Cry 3 PC

The lush tropical Island is gorgeous enough for you to stop at some moments and just soak in the beauty of sun, sand, palms and turquoise water straight out of a dream island. At times there are magnificent waterfalls that are nowhere on the map but you just stumble across it as you drive through. Somewhere you might encounter a Tiger or other deadly animal like a bear or a wild dog which makes you cautious enough and be ready at all times.

As Protagonist Jason Brody, you are estranged from your friends when the Pirate leader Vaas captures your friends for ransom and you fight on the paradisaical island against drug runners, pirates and wildlife all the while making associations with a local tribe Rakyat.

Apart from the main story which takes quite a while to kick in, you have plenty of side missions that feel good just because you get to explore the island's beauty. There are outposts of the pirates that you have to capture and turn them into Rakyat territory. This is an exciting part in the starting as you kill and capture the place, you are rewarded with a safe house that allows you to purchase ammo and upgrades and weapons along with fast travel on the map. Over the course of the game it feels repetitive. As in like Assassins Creed, you have to climb radio towers to activate parts of map and you get a clearer map. You can loot the dead bodies and chests for cash and upgrade your arsenal. Moreover the kills earn you skill points you can spend on various character upgrades.

You can immerse more than 30 hours on this tropical heaven island as you traverse caves, dense forests, muddy tracks, sail through waters, waterfalls, tribal villages and enemy outposts.

You hunt down animals and make pouches to store munition and various animal skins make for various upgrade to Jason's backpack and the plants you pluck used into healing meds and other boosts. Pretty varied game and takes a while to get a handle onto. At first the various combos of Animal skin uses and plant uses might baffle the users as they search for particular animal to build a certain item, but it gets fun later on once you get the hang of it and learn to utilize the map locations properly.

The main game story picks up only halfway through as Jason starts connecting to the Island. In the end 10 hours or so i gave up on the side missions as they tend to be a repeat of kill and capture. But the game immerses you into a beautiful and dangerous world.

This game most certainly will please fans of FPS & a storied addition to the Far Cry faranchise.
