Really great far cry 3 spin-off
First off, the first thing i noticed when i started playing blood dragon was that it ran smoother on my pc than far cry 3 alone. Either there were some optimizations made or it is all in my head but i could swear it runs smoother on my pc than far cry 3 does.
The tutorial is hilarious and the whole game in general just keeps you laughing in your chair the entire time.. The guns at first seemed a little too star-wars like for my appeal and i thought they were all going to be slow-velocity laser beam rounds.. Thankfully that was quickly put to rest when i saw the large arsenal of weapons at a gun shop. I was happy to use a bunch of different weapons that shot modern day feeling rounds rather than just lasers.
The enemies bleed a neon blue color and it feels really retro and awesome when you land blue-gusher splattering head shots. The guns feel just right and have amazing animations/sounds.. I was expecting most things to be taken right from far cry3 and not modified in any way, but this honestly feels like a whole new game.. I've only been playing a few hours but it has the quality of something far beyond the price-tag of $15.
The graphics really pull me in to another world, there are neon blue glowing rocks in the rivers, there are amazing looking apocalyptic-type fires in the distant background.. There are laser signals being displayed all over the sky onto the clouds, there are HUGE water dams that look like something right out of a sci-fi movie. Everything is just PERFECT. Oh yeah and there are these incredibly awesome looking dinosaur type of neon glowing creatures that look like t-rexes but are for some reason called dragons, but nonetheless they really MESS YOU UP if you piss them off.
The fact that this game does not require FC3 to run just takes away any reason to NOT buy this game. You should buy this game, for 15 bucks there really is NO reason not to.
Well.. multiplayer would be cool, but for 15 bucks you can't get everything.
