Wipe. Rinse. Repeat.

User Rating: 6.5 | Far Cry 2 PS3
I bought the game mainly due to the good critiques it had received on various sites (this one included).

I did not buy it "fresh", it had already been introduced for some time so i did not spent a lot for it, which made me to judge it not so harshly.
Far Cry 2 IS an interesting, good-looking game and that is that. It does not excel anywhere and it does not lag anywhere either.
One thing I found quite boring is the fact that fighting gets very repetitive.
There is a definite amount of ways to clear a specific outpost or farm or any other place where the rival mercenaries re-spawn in a rather short amount of time and once you use them all, you start to wish for the enemies to just stop re-spawning.

Transportation from one point to the next is also quite boring. That is because of the lack of feel when you drive a vehicle
(yes. I know that this is not a driving game) and you can not tell the difference between a truck and a buggy.
Add to this the fact that in order to go from point A t point B you have to clear again the same outposts you cleared 15 minutes ago.

Finally the story is simply non-existent. It does not keep you going on, as other similar games do. I struggled to make sense of some scenes and the connection between persons and factions is, to say the least, vague.

Bottom line. I did not regret buying it and spending some twenty hours on it but the point is that I never finished it. And that says a lot.
