What the deuce? It looks familiar, but what is this game?

User Rating: 5 | Family Guy PS2
The Family Guy game is one of those games that I bought on a whim, and it shows. The premise of the game is negligible at best. It pulls from different episodes of the show, pulling in various characters and swapping them for you, while telling some sort of coherent story about Quahog and the Griffin family.

While I would certainly say rent this, because after renting it, you'll either finish it, or like me, give up after not being able to get Stewie to jump through the proper doors in the mortuary. I thought the game play was funky, at best. It made sense, but at the same time, I couldn't ever really get things to a point where I felt comfortable with what was going on. Some sections were nonsensical, others were hilarious and I had a hard time concentrating on the game because I was too amused by what was going on.

If you're a fan of Family Guy, then you really don't have a choice, like I didn't have a choice, about getting this game. It really is a must-have for a fan, but expect to get frustrated with poor game play, but be amused by the environments and weapons. It also does sound like the voice actors did carry over to the game, so that's a nice added bonus for fans. Maybe I will pick this up again…
