Pub games for Xbox Arcade relies heavely on the fact that you can use the money won to buy crap in the full on Fable 2 when it is released. This is actually an extremely cool idea. Unfortunatly the 3 games in this tie in are bad....really bad. Spinner is like a slot machine basically, so you hit A over and over,....and over, and over, and quickly build up a huge debt, the same goes for the bizarre and painfully confused Keystone which is like roulette and craps smashed together, heavy on the craps. Keystone offers more to do ,but you will still lose money. Alot of money. The best of the 3 is Fortunes Tower, which is a card game that hates you, and this is the under lying problem. To understand you must get the basic idea of this game. You have one Gate Card which is face down. the rest of the cards are delt face up in rows. You deal out the first row under your gate card. As you go down each row gets more and more cards. The trick is that no 2 of the same cards can touch vertically. if so your gate card takes its place saving you so you can go on. The only other chance you have is for one of the 4 hero cards to be in the row. The Hero card saves any row it is in. The amount of gold you can win for each row depends on the amount of the cards in the current row added together. Each row has more cards there for possibly higher scores, and if you get to the 8th row without using your gate card you win a jack pot. The problem is, is that this game defies probability more often then not so that you will lose. You see, if your gate card is the same as the card it's replacing then you still lose, and out of 20 matches I had this occur 15 times! As I continued to track this I noticed that this is pretty average. Sometimes 18, out of 20, sometimes everytime. The actual probability is around 1 out of 7.....I think. There are around 74 cards 10 of each number card 1-7 and 4 hero cards. So, of course it will happen, but not at the rate that it does.

In the end the only saving grace to this game is the gold for Fable 2, but because the game defies logic so that you will never get out of debt, you basically have a really bad, pointless game for $10..........but,.....you may notice all those people on the leaderboards like me with $100,000 or more, but how!!!!! CHEATING!!! SWEET CHEATING! Once you can bet more then just the minnimum in Fortunes Tower you can drop your bet to $30 press A to deal, and then hit LB which will max out your bet, with out removing the gold. If you lose you lose little, if you win, you win big!!!!! This still does not make the game good and actually gives you time to realize how bad this game is, but you'll be as rich as a Nazi!!!

So if you are going to get Fable 2, and don't mind exploiting a poorly crafted arcade game, then by all means live it up. Other wise, buy a deck of cards, strip bare ass naked and run into a prison holding sale and wait for the sweet, sweet love'ens of a prison inmate named Levi,.....Fable 2 style!
