I actually pity the person who enjoys a good race simulator and passed on this one. I have bought dozens of racers over the years on all kinds of consoles, pc's, Xbox 360's game boy advances and DS' most of which delivered disappointment or redundant game play, seldom offering anything more.... until NOW. What this offers is a handheld game DONE RIGHT. It is a race simulator that did exactly what it said it would. Best of all it looks absolutely amazing (and I'm not really a graphics nut, but this one blows MY mind. Even my friend who is addicted to Forza series on the xBox 360 (on a 50+ inch screen ..) said and I quote... "I think that is the best graphcs I have seen on any type of console (or handheld).. ever, anywhere..." end quote. And I must agree. It does not stop there though. The few racers over the years that had acceptable graphics, had poor game play. Usually there are tracks wth turns that are just ludicrous. I mean turns that no real car in real life could ever hope to make, are added to these other racers these days in an attempt to create artificial difficulty: make the game appear more challenging then it really is. I have been to many real race tracks in my life, all over the country(USA) and never seen ones like some of these game companies try pushing on us gamers. Here in F1 3ds, the tracks are realistic, with realistic turns, and race competitors but most of all. The cars handle like would expect the real thing to handle. It turns smoothly ( steering assist is optional) brakes appropriately (same as previous optional) and , well just everything, graphics, challenge, length, controls, everything was done right. I mean its all spot on. If you are into this type of racing, this may be the best 3rd party game that your money will buy this year. Don't take my word for it, but watch how hard it will be to get a copy if you did not pre order it... No one will return this one used I can tell ya. Get it or lose out. Don't say I didn't warn ya. OK I'll stop gushing now but it really is an amazing game and the best the Ds has to offer hands down (even better than Mario depending on your point of view.)
