F-Zero GX is simply the fastest, best futuristic racing game to date.

Gameplay: Since F-Zero X, i've been a huge fan of the F-Zero franchise. I had huge expectations the first time i played GX and it didn't disappoint. Like the previous F-Zero games it contains 4 cups and can be raced in several difficulties. It can be said that these cups are very challenging even in Novice due to the smart AI of the opposing racers but it makes for a great challenge. GX introduced the ability to purchase machine parts and gives you the ability to create your own machine. This option was a great addition to the F-Zero franchise because it gives you the opportunity to create a machine to your liking, looks and characteristics, for example speed handling etc. GX also introduces a Story mode in which you race with Captain Falcon. The story mode had some very fun missions however some were difficult to complete. The game also has Time Trial mode, VS. and Practice. Time Trails test your skill on each track. You can unlock ghosts for the time trails and take them on one-on-one. But be warned, they're no push over. VS mode is very entertaining with friends and you can spend hours challenging each other. Practice is where you can master your skills and is a good place to go if you're new to the F-Zero Series Graphics: Absolutely beautiful. The machines and pilot's are very detailed so are the tracks. The tracks do such an excellent job of creating a really futuristic world and are just simply stunning. The speed effects made when you use your boost is incredible and not only makes you see the intense speed but feel it too. The framerate in the game never slows down which is important in a high speed game like this. The cut scenes in the Story mode are crisp and are nicely done. Sound: The music in GX is so well fitted to the game. Once again F-Zero delivers fast paced music to get your adrenaline pumped. The soundtrack is one of the best original scores i've heard in any game. Not only is music enjoyable but it also contributes to the whole Fast paced F-Zero GX experience. The sound effects are have been done extremely well. The sound of your machine boosting is great and so are the various other sound effect such as the engines and explosions. I was a bit worried when i noticed that there was voice acting in the Story mode but it had been done very well. Value: F-Zero GX is the best in series and is a must buy for all Gamecube owners and racing addicts. It not only offers hours on enjoyment but it introduces new features to the F-Zero Series that go in well. As i previously stated, the game is hard and will take a lot of practice to master skills such as drifting on corners which, will be essential when you take on the harder modes. It was great to see all the new features the game had and adds to it's replay value. The game is visually stunning in all areas and the music is very entertaining. Overall GX is simply the best in the series and would be a fine addition in any collection. Sega and Nintendo have done an excellent job in bringing the series to the Gamecube. It has flawless graphics, sound and gameplay. Personally it's my favourite racing game on the Gamecube and i would recommend it to any GC owner. Simply amazing!
