Good overall arcade flight simulator. It is a very easy title to pick and it is also multiplayer enabled.

F-16 is the kind of game that reminds me what games are all about: sheer fun. It might not be a full fledged simulator like Falcon 4.0 but who cares? It has a very nice graphics engine, the fights are realistic enough and you get to play a variety of missions, from escorting bombing groups to maintain air superiority, or just plain old air-to-ground missions.

Multiplayer support is excellent. Even on a 56k modem. The nifty thing is that if you have other Novalogic's standalone games like F-22 Raptor, or MiG-29 you can actually pit these aircraft against each other. It's worth a try considering that you can use a pretty old computer with no graphics acceleration to play this game.

And that brings us to the bad part. Unaccelerated graphics are ok when you really have no choice, but what bothers me the most is that I used to have a Voodoo3 card and this game looked beautifully. Now, since the game only supports acceleration through Glide (read Voodoo cards) which is now an extinct 3D API, you are pretty much left on your own. There is a patch that is supposed to fix this but I have tried it in different machines to no avail. You could also install a Glide emulator from the net but the results are disappointing.

F-16 is a good game that I will always remember but the graphics issue are a real let down so my recomendation is that you get F-22 Raptor 3 instead.
