Just another one of those crappy alien movie rip-off games thats fine to play but, not that great.

GreatGospel back giving my review for Extermination for the PS2. All I'll say here is I've haven't been this disappointed in a game since the ending to Kingdom Hearts 2.

The story is simple, you are Dennis Riley a U.S. Marine sent out with your team to Alaska to a Research Facility that sent out a digress signal now you and your team which is called by Team Red Light is sent in to take a look by plane well something goes wrong and the plane crashes and you are separated and now you must find them while trying to find out why they needed help. And thats the story.

This game was made to be like Resident Evil but, to me this game would be an insult to the Resident Evil series.

As Dennis you are able to run and jump. And for the aiming you hold R1 and press X to fire. The aiming is the same as Cold Fear but, can be switched to First Person like The Suffering. You use the same M16 Military Assault Rifle that can switch between single, burst or full auto fire through the whole game.

While playing through the game you will find special attachments like secondary weapons or a scope. This is kinda neat but, not all that.

Dennis also has a knife that by pressing two different buttons will either perform a horizontal swipe or a vertical slice. The knife to me was only really needed to cut through web instead of fighting an enemy with it.

The puzzles were all easy and none were hard to figure out so that was disappointing.

As for the the level design they weren't half bad. I thought they where good and nice to look at while playing. Though most of it is covered by darkness.

The enemies were pretty well designed but, are all made from the same boring design. And they aren't all that threating and the main enemy is a small slug thing that at first looks cute instead of nasty.

And nothing annoys me more in world then the voice acting for this game. Like in this one part of the game Dennis hears a roar and a scream and all he says is "That dosen't sound good." not scared or frighten while he stands there like a dingis and does nothing.

Overall this game is like I said a rip-off and you would be better off borrowing this more than renting. But, if you want it it's like $2.99 at GameStop. Or you could just pass completely on this game. Thats my review. See'ya.
