It's time for the Excitebike review! For the NES.

This is the first out of 5 NES games I will review from Animal Crossing for the Gamecube. Excitebike is basically a motorcross game where you race on a bike and try to get the best time. There are two game modes, helpfully named A and B mode.

I'll go over the A mode first. The A mode is a single player mode. In this one you have to try to get the best time. To control your bike, you use the Control Stick to move up and down. You use the A button to accelerate. There is a meter that will tell you how hot your bike is. If it gets too hot your bike overheats and you have to wait for it to cool. The A mode gets boring quickly, but I think that was more of a practice mode.

Now it's time for the B mode. In this mode it's the same, except there are other players on the track. The goal is not to beat them, but still get the best time. The other racers will be an obstacle since they can use their back tires to make you fall. You can do the same thing to the other racers as well. Oh yeah....about falling. You can fall by missing jumps or if that back tire trick is used on you. However, the bike is indestructible and the biker will never be injured. Falling only hurts your time.

There is also a third mode, called Design. This mode lets you create your own tracks. You can only save one track, but at least we get that. All of the options are named after letters. It's hard to use, but we do get a designer. You can play it in the A or B mode.

Excitebike is a good game for the time. If you want to play a simple game, this is a pretty solid title. It's available for the Virtual Console for 500 Wii Points, and I think it's worth it. If you have extra Wii Points to spend, I recommend it.

This game gets a 6.5 out of 10 with the title of Fair.
