Good Evil Dead game, mediocre action game.

User Rating: 6.8 | Evil Dead: Regeneration XBOX
There really hasn't been a "great" Evil Dead game. Unfortunately, the trend continues with Evil Dead: Regeneration. It's not a terrible game- in fact, it's the best in the Evil Dead series, but it's still fairly mediocre.

Gameplay - This is where ED:R falls short. Shoot. Hack. Shoot. Hack. Hack. Hack. Shoot. There's not a whole lot of variety to the action sequences, but at least you have awesome weapons (chainsaw and a boomstick, with a few other surprises) at your disposable... with unlimited ammo!

You also have a little sidekick, Sam, who helps with the puzzle solving (which are not hard at all) and some battles. Thankfully, you can kick him around, and can provide some decent banter.

Later in the game, you'll find yourself doing the same task over and over- feed three spirits to a worm-like demon blocking a doorway to the next part of the game. Sam acts as a host to the spirit, which means you get to escort him! Woo!

Graphics - Nothing earth-shattering, but they get the job done.

Sound - Bruce Campbell. Need I say any more? Well, I shall mention the music, as you control Sam, the music is very annoying after awhile... -1.

Value - It's a budget game, and if you're and Evil Dead fanatic, it's a good buy.

Overall - Play it if you're an Evil Dead fan. Play it if you just want to waste a few hours mindlessly killing deadites. But if you're just looking for a more complex gaming experience, look elsewhere.
