Great Idea, But it could have turned out much better than how it is

Now I am a big fan of the survival horror genre, which includes games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Even though I knew about the poor reviews of this game, I bought this game because I thought it looked like it could be a decent Resident Evil clone but there is just quite a bit of flaws that make it less fun then could be. The game is based on the American horror film franchise The Evil Dead created by Sam Raimi. From what I know the game takes place after the events of the 3rd movie in the series Army of Darkness. The game its self looks alright at times but could be better for a game that came out 12 years ago. The game also tends to be very difficult, such as whenever you kill the deadites they ALWAYS re spawn shortly afterwords, now I haven't seen any of The Evil Dead movies, but I assume they just won't die in the movies as well. You rarely get free time just to explore because in this game you are almost ALWAYS on the run, what makes it even harder is if you want to just run past enemies to save ammo or chainsaw fuel, you sometimes get stuck just trying to run by (which looks like Ash is on the run but he isn't getting anywhere) but sometimes if you try to fight back with your axe or chainsaw it is very sloppy to control though I do find it cool when you impale a deadite with the chainsaw and the enemies corpse spins rapidly on the blade until you let go of the attack button. The story is you have to receive the missing pages of the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis (The Book of the Dead) and that his fellow S-Mart employee Jenny has been kidnapped. Now I haven't completed the game because of the difficulty, and I really don't think I will go back to playing for quite awhile unless Im really bored. The game still offers a few scares though. Now I probably recommend picking this up if you are a fan of survival horror and want to try something different in the genre or if you are a fan of The Evil Dead franchise all together. The game isn't all out horrible but this great idea could have been much better.
