If you like what EVE has to offer, you will love it. It's level of depth isn't for everybody.

EVE has plenty to offer but it isn't a game to what you can simply jump into. You will need to be ready to learn so you may succeed in your goals. Personally I had no difficulties when starting. Improved tutorial mode teaches basics and you can easily continue learning from that.
EVE can be a very brutal world to live in. There are only some rules to protect you, and plenty of freedom to do what you like. Scamming and pirating is accepted and even encouraged. Personally I enjoy greatly how EVE works. You don't need to do anything you don't want to. I can explore and do PvE, trade ... change to PvP warfare... I may do what I enjoy. Game looks beautiful and works well. Game is steadily updated and modified.
Best mmo there is.
