You choose from nine different characters. Although each character is different they still have the same button combinations for every special move. This makes it easy to learn every characters special move. This may seem simple but in fact it is complex because every character has different combos that you put together. So even though you may know all the moves you still have to figure out how to put them all togetther.
The graphics are good for the genesis I mean you really can't expect much.
The music is real good I found myself humming the old tunes to the levels.
sound effects are average smack beep you know the routine
Eternal also emulates mortal kombat to an extent with overkills. Overkill are initiated during a match not at the end like MK. You have to toss you opponenent into a certain spot in the final round to execute these moves. and they are different for each level like for example: you can get be burned at a stake, get eaten by a dinosaur, get strangled under water, or even plummet to your death there is even a drive by.
