The city is under siege and only a heroic cop can save the day

User Rating: 4.3 | ESWAT: Cyber Police GEN
The city is under siege and only a heroic cop can save the day, no this isn't the plot from a Die Hard film it's the classic ESWAT, well classic is kind of tagged on. This game was a rather nifty arcade coin op but this is quite a disappointment.

You start the game as a lowly police officer aspiring to be a part of the elite ESWAT (Enhanced Special Weapons and Tactics) team. You need to prove your skills of policing is worthy in order to qualify, and must first kill one of the crime bosses and his associated cronies to prove you're worth your stripes, and armour more importantly.

Once you're in possession of the necessary armaments, its time to clean up the rest of the world well streets really. There are five levels worth of ESWAT excitement, and each level has four smaller scenes paced worth felons to despatch to their graves, and success means one less member of the crime boss cartel. Failure isn't even worth contemplating.

It's not that ESWAT: Cyber Police is a bad game it just bears very little resemblance to the arcade original, looking like an arcade Robocop variant, but you look more like C3PO with a pea gun than a mean steel crime fighting machine.

Presentation
Overall a little bit lacking, the screens look boring and the game lacks a polished feel.

Graphics
Oh my god, you can talk about bad and then you can talk about ESWAT : Cyber Police, this game has the lot, Clashing Colours, large areas of repeated backgrounds and not very atmospheric or well drawn for that matter.
4 / 10

Sound
Monotonous, tinny sounding and that's as good as it gets.
4 / 10

Playability
Plenty of things to do at first, but tends to get really really repetitive after the first few levels/ Stages.
5 / 10

Lastability
Five quite large levels, but the easy pace of the game means that you'll crack them within the day of purchase.
