A Good Driving Experience

User Rating: 7 | Enthusia Professional Racing PS2
This is a very underappreciated and underrated racing game that got lost in the shadows of gran turismo 4. This is also a game that uses RPG elements (gaining enthu points for completing races and regaining lost points when resting and levelling up your driver.) that puts an interesting twist on racing. The driving in this game provides a decent challenge, trying to maintain your enthu points by not colliding with walls or other drivers or not driving off track (if you lose all of your points, you sit out for a week). plus you can pick your own challenge (A.I/race ratings based on strength) and you collect your cars via a lottery system afterwards (save for match races). there is also a Driving Revolution mode (a DDR in racing games???) where you guide your cars through gates at a certain speed. the controls are smooth for the most part, but the rear wheel drive cars need some time to get used to; the steering on them is unwieldly and rather loose. the menus are also annoying; if you want to narrow down your car selections you have to click through a hodgepodge of submenus. the music has some nice smooth jazz that gives the game a nice feel to it. this game is a must have if you are very serious about racing want a decent challenge.
