A thought provoking, stunning adventure. Brought down heavily by a weak conclusion.

User Rating: 8 | Enslaved: Odyssey to the West X360
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is one of the best true adventure games i have ever played. Taking place in a very green post apocalyptic world, protagonists Monkey and Tripp set out on an adventure of a lifetime, battling mechs and eachother along the way.

The Highs: First off the graphics are refreshing, and help add to the quality of the game play experience. The characters are interesting and the gamer develops somewhat of a bond with them as the story progresses. The dialogue made me laugh out loud in certain points, the things that Monkey says (especially to Pigsy) got me chuckling. Its very rare to have a green post apocalyptic world. Take a look at the Fallout franchise for example, covered in brown wastelands.. Not Enslaved though! And finally, there is a fun, and diverse array of enemies to face.

The Lows: Combat gets very monotonous, I used the same sequence of hits from start to finish. Another thing that gets monotonous is the constant climbing that Monkey does, it just feels very effortless and all thats really required is mashing the "A" button over and over and over. But the main problem with this game is the ending, I wont spoil it for you, but it seemed to have been going in the right direction, and even made you stop to think for a moment, hence being thought provoking. But then an abrupt halt to the conclusion and the final lines of dialogue is what absolutely killed this game. C'mon i played nine hours for that crap? oh well.

Overall: Despite having what in my opinion is a very weak ending, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West gets a commendable 8 out of 10. This game is definitely worth a rent.
