Scuba diving, fish cataloging, and sitting on the deck watching the sunset. A must have scuba game.

Endless Ocean is a very peaceful little game that takes place in the fictional Manoa Lai Sea down in the South Pacific. It's a very mellow game, certain to calm you down after a hard day, or shock you out of nowhere.

It's basically a do-what-you-want game, in that you don't have to do anything you don't want to, and only do, well, whatever it is you want to. You spend your time in the water scuba diving and cataloging fish. This is very easy, especially since the story is so short.

The story should only take someone a couple hours (and I do mean a couple,)
ending in the discovery of something that will blow you away. Now, I won't tell you what it is, in case you don't have this game, but it is a very nice sight.

The story consists of you helping your assistant (go figure) on finding something called the Ancient Mother. This only takes a short time to do, if you don't get calmed into a coma.

What I really like about this game is that nothing can hurt you, and nothing tries to. I've always wanted a game without fear of being attacked, and I found it. However, it does have awkward moments, like when a polar bear or group of walruses appear on your tiny sailboat, the Gabbiano.

Now for the characters in the game. Basically, the only people you see are guided tour clients and your assistant, Katherine Sunday. She can't swim, so she stays on the Gabbiano and helps you out through radio and a camera she claims to have stuck on your air tank.

You do run out of air, but you have to play for a long time before that happens. It takes so long that I haven't found out what happens if you do run out.

The fish are mostly tropical, but you do run into fish that seem a little out of place. For instance, you know when I said polar bears appear on your boat? What are they doing in the South Pacific?

The music doesn't help the mellow feel of the game. About 97% of the game's music is by Haley Westenra (which I hoped I spelled right. Sorry, Hayley.) She sings very peacefully, and you could probably use her music as lullabies for small children.

The gameplay is pretty easy too. It's nice and peaceful, and it's definitely a way to calm down or turn off.

As for controls, you use all the buttons on the Wii remote, and you don't use the nunchuck. It pretty much point-and-click, and certain buttons only do certain things.

In short, great game, nice gameplay, and I plan to play it for a long time.

By the way, my score is suppoed to be 10, but it won't change. If it finally did, yay! :)
