Perhaps it doesn't stand out, but it surely is a great game!

User Rating: 8.5 | Enchanted Arms X360
Enchanted Arms follows your standard RPG template. Though it does so with an interesting story, decent characters, and awesome turn based combat.

The story follows Atsuma and several acquaintances as he learns about himself and secrets of the past to save the world and his friends from destruction. Each of the characters are interesting enough, but remain a little flat throughout. There is a nice array of main human characters with their own personalities and quirks that wholly define them from start to finish, but certainly gets the job done.

This game shines with its turn based battles. The battle system is a kind of combination between traditional turn based game play mixed with turn based strategy game play. Both your side and the enemy's side have a small separate grid. You learn attacks and support skills that are capable of reaching different ranges and widths to attack the enemies across from you or help your allies on your side. You are able to move around on your side of the grid using the human characters or a selection of golems you can collect through out the game. Your human characters are more customizable and can learn new skills and get new weapons. But the golems can be very useful when you have limited human characters with you or when you need to give your characters a rest since they will need to regenerate their ability to use attack and support skills over time.

This standard RPG affair introduces a great battle system that would be great to see used again and improved upon. While there isn't much else to really make this game shine, everything comes together soundly for a worthwhile game you won't regret spending anywhere form 50-70 hours of your time with.
