Eat Lead isn't the worst game ever, but it surely isn't the best, either.

First of all, the concept for Eat Lead is pretty fantastic, especially for a gamer. This is a pretty spot-on satire, and what really makes this game so fun is the comedy. I mean, it has Will Arnett and Neil Patrick Harris in it. That's pretty cool in my book, and Will Arnett definitely delivers the goods. This game lambasts many of the popular trends in the last 20 years of gaming, and the comedy just feels right.

When it comes to controls and graphics, however, it definitely falls short. I can understand the graphics being subpar, since I imagine the developers didn't want to spend too much on a game that is primarily satire. Also, I'm sure that wanted it to have a somewhat nostalgic feel to it as well, to add to the "trip down memory lane" ambiance. However, the controls can also be pretty shoddy, which can lead to a lot of annoyances in the game. I've wavered on whether or not the developers did this on purpose, to highlight many of the control issues that have plagued games over the years. I could see them doing this in a way, but when you really think about it, it would be kind of dumb for them to do that. I think it would have been much better for them to lampoon other games while simultaneously transcending their shortcomings. It would have made for a much better game. However, I think this one is underrated, and you should definitely check it out. I got mine on sale at Best Buy for only $10, though...That's the only reason I bought it, really.
