Its a very alright shmup game.
The Music was above average, not by a lot but It did have some catching tunes like on stage 2
The Graphics, well they were pretty damn good, well not the best I see on the SNES but they use em pretty well, specially for stage 4 (with the giant Colony slowly rising from the back), That part made me say "WHOA...".
Its difficulty is right on target as you quickly start to know the machines patterns, yet still having some hard times avoiding there attacks. The bosses are simple at first but as you move later on, they start getting challenging, need of more focus on them and there attacks
You all have these cool little options like increase your speed by 3x and having the choice to select up to 8 different weapons. Now even thou you can't get any other of your weapons in the rest of the game (in till you die) you have this bar,on top the game's screen, that the more enemies you take down, the more the bar increase and once it reaches the max, it upgrades your XA-1's (name of your ship) weapon. Don't worry if you die you'll still have the same Level upgrade you had already.After once you reach Lvl 5 (The maxed upgrade) you'll start now getting Shield for your good old XA-1.
Above all, the game's alright, It really fits in the R-type,Axelay, and Gradius III list. It seemed JALECO really tried NOT to make this game of there's suck and mange to pull it off. The game's worth checking out and a good shmup to your SNES collection.
