Not the original games at all...

Let's get my major gripe out of the way first.

One of the main reason I bought this collection was to play the Road Rash games that I enjoyed so much on the Sega Genesis, back in the 1990's. IMagine my surprise, when booting up Road Rash, to find that the title music was missing. i went into the menu - still no music. Then I started a race. instead of the classic music from the original Genesis game (written by C64 legend, Rob Hubbard), all I got was a pre-recorded audio loop of some awful guitar music. Great. Annoyed, I loaded up Road Rash II. Exactly the same - no title music, no menu music, but when i started a race, the exact same audio loop played! I thought, "this can't be right", so I started up Road Rash III. This time, I did get title/menu music, but it wasn't the original game soundtrack,.

So, to summarise, EA have ripped out all of the original music from this game and replaced it with substandard audio loops. This begs the question, "why?". Why make a games collection for old retro games fanatics like me, and then ruin the experience by updating the music? And why do this only for three games and leave all the others alone?

So anyway, supposing you don't care about Road Rash - what's the rest of the compilation like? Extremely poor. The presentation is awful, some of the games have problems with their sound effects (such as Desert Strike and Jungle Strike) and others are prone to crashing (such as Wing Commander).

All in all, it's a really shabby effort from EA and I think Gamespot were a little too lenient in their scoring.

Avoid this one and find some other more reliable way of playing these classic games on your PSP... if you get my drift.
