If you have played one of the Dynasty Warriors, you have played them all. Not much has changed. Nothing to see here.

Unless you already enjoy the previous series, this game is a race to see how long it takes to become bored with killing mindless AI. A button masher's dream.

Basically you choose a warrior from a region and single handedly charge an army that waits for you to punish them. You will mash a few buttons until your fingers get tired, and then mash them some more. Not much changes at all.

The storyline is different depending on the character you choose and will end differently for that character, but it doesn't drive the game at all. You won't feel the need to become one character over the other. Looks and weapons will be your deciding factors.

Graphic wise, the game doesn't have much shine. It won't "wow" you or even get a nod. Although the characters are colorful, your enemies look like a land of clones with the exception of a boss. The cinematics look nice, but you won't see them often.

AI runs up to you...most of the time..and stands there waiting for you to kill it. Every once in a while one might swing at you, but no threat is ever present.

Gameplay doesn't get much more boring. Controls are as simple as they get and for good reason, because its a simple game. Run into a mob, mash a few buttons over and over, run to the boss, repeat. Beat the level and redo the entire process again and again. It requires no thinking at all.

Replay value is entirely dependant on how much you like pressing one/two buttons with different characters. There is a splitscreen co-op, but it won't add any fun factor because your partner simply isn't required. Instead of 1 person mashing a button over and over, you have 2 people doing it.

The good news, if you like any of the DW series, you are sure to like this one too! The bad news, if you don't already enjoy the DW series, you won't now, not even close.
