Dynasty warriors 6 is a next installment in the series of koei titles. It has beautiful visuals and the character models are excellent. The characters are well designed and characters like Lu Bu or Gan Ning look diffrent. And characters like Zhoa Yun, Zhang Fei, Guan Yu, Gan Ning, Lu Xun,Ling Tong, Xiahou Dun, Cao Cao and Lui Bei are tough to beat and requires skills and tactics to defeat them. Just imagine using a level 1 character and fight against characters like Zhang Fei or Lu Bu. You will die in 2 or 3 hits from them. There are plenty of missions and in Musou mode, selected characters have their own storylines that may take 5-6 hours to complete. You can choose characters from Wei, Shu or Wu forces to play and you will level up and improve the character that you choose. And the difficulty curve is just right. As your charcter levels up, the enemies will also get tougher. In this game, there are many characters to unlock and you need to fufil these requirements to unlock them. You will be addicted to that as you would really want to unlock your favourite characters. Those Lu Bu fans out there, it will take a really long time to unlock Lu Bu. The combat system is excellent and it is great to bash up a huge bunch of enemies. The musou is a very important factor as it would unleash a powerful attack once you use it. New to the series is the renbu system. Build up your renbu system and you would unleash powerful, swift and new attacks on the enemies. In this game, you can also swim in the water and climb ladders. These are small additions but you can expect koei to expand and add new things to the future dynasty warriors titles. The cutscenes in this game are delivered well and the voice system is OK. The sound is OK too. Framerate holds at a steady rate.
However, this game has also a few bad aspects. Graphics are not so great. Also, enemies tend to dissapear and appear out of nowhere. This may be fustrating as you wont know whether the enemies are behind or in front of you, thuis getting you attacked. Furthermore, the combo system is taken out in this game. Instead, the renbu system is placed. Hence, most part of the game, you will be pounding on the same button. Also, i hated the fact that your allies can die easily( excluding your main king). When they are yor enemy, they can be deadly and dangerous but when they are your allies, they would struggle to defeat the enemy.
Nevertheless, this is a great game and is the best in series. It is a must have for dynasty warriors fans and gamers who are new to this genre should also try it out.
