Amazing new installments, some things annoyed me....

Dynasty warriors 6 is simply amazing. The graphics, the new features.....

First of all, let me start with the new renbu system. We can finally make our move combos depending on how well we do, not just any limited combo. It's a great installment which I don't think there's anything else to it to go into detail about.

The graphics is amazing. They simply have used all the features of the next generation consoles to make the best of the DW series. It's spectactular, unlike any other dynasty warriors game I have ever seen before.

Now I understand that there are people who remain boored all the time who like to see the new features but at the same time there are the veteran players (like myself) who'd love to see the older features. I love this game but there's some things which really.... really annoyed me. The thing that annoyed me the most is how they completely changed the troop system. The character we play as doesn't even have his own troops. They killed it by making it like that. They made it so that we have to go around doing everything ourselves. I like to see my friends help out. What they did with Dynasty warriors 5 was awesome. In DW5, they made it so that your own troops get stronger as your morale gets stronger and your troops fight strong. It also gets your team's morale up so that they fight stronger aswell. In DW6, we have to go around doing everything ourselves, your team only actually wins when you get the opponents down to about 5 units and your team starts winning. I like to see my team fight hard as I fight hard. To be honest, in Dynasty Warriors 5, I enjoyed waiting there and watching my troops who became strong because of my high morale go and kill everybody. But no.... In Dynasty Warriors 6 they destroyed the morale system. Now sure, a unit's spirit goes higher when you kill an enemy unit close to him but that just makes you go and kill every enemy unit yourself so that all the units on your side becomes stronger. The gameplay expects me to go and do my duties and at the same time head back to protect my leader. He and his troops should be able to protect himself.
Now you all must know where I am coming with this, I wanted to see the old troops and morale system which they kept still available, not totally ruin it. I'd also love to have my own elite bodyguards too.

Now the whole paragraph above is the only thing I got extremely annoyed at. Apart from that it's all perfect but I am a veteran player and I still wanted to see that system and I may be really annoyed at koei if they do not change it back or improve the old troop system in a good way in Dynasty Warriors 7.

I forgot to mention that I love the new features such as swimming and being able to jump on the horse and climbing ladders and all that. What I also loved was the new aspect of musou mode. Now musou mode is just about the main thing I play, I only play challenges and stuff when I'm boored :P, but I love how we could see the entire story behind each legend as we gradually play him/her. The dramatic and amazing film clips are really.... inspiring. I just love it but I think they may have over did it a bit if you know what I mean. For example, in a film clip in dynasty warriors 5, we see Zhao Yun storming through hundreds, possibly thousands of men and beating the heck out of them all but in dynasty warriors 6, we see him having difficulty facing only 3 men. It is clear that koei are trying to make the games more realistic whilst we're not playing like in film clips but I really do not think it is what they need. We play as dynasty warriors, true legends, not normal 21st century human beings, lol. So I don't think koei should look at it in that way for the next installment anymore.

Well I covered just about most of what I liked/didn't like. Although there was 1 thing I didn't like and liked almost everying else, it is a really big thing that you just couldn't imagine how us veteran players of the series feel. Yes, I'm talking about what they did with troops and morale. I could've went on about the way troops appear but that's enough for this review ;)
