Dynasty Tactics, just like Dynasty Warriors, is based on actual Chinese history. Being a person who doesn't really care for a "turn based" fighting system, I have to say that this game makes it fun and addictive. It truly is a "stategy" game because you have to make ALL the decisions on AND off the battlefield. There is so much that you can do it would be impossible for me to tell it all, but here are some "for instances." You have to keep track of, apoint, move, take care of, promote, raise morale, and order all of your troops, officers, envoys, cities, and civilians. Take a breath.......and.........okay. There are alot of tricks to learn that will make your life and battles go alot better and easier. Like sending spies to well...spy on a city before you attack, as well as fighting with you so you can out number the enemy. And if you disband an army and send them back to the capital, they will regain troops alot faster. You'll learn what decisions to make, even if they don't help you right away. Choose wisely when offered with or trying to make an alliance, learn to use as well as stand your ground. The best thing you can learn is "how you fight" or "your style." Know your strengths, but know your weaknesses even better. Once I learned that I have a knack for defense, seperating the enemy, and useing their attack as my attack, I started pushing forward with a vengence. This game takes time to play, but the more you do the stronger you get. And nothing beats that happy dance you do when you have completly annihilated the enemy and VICTORY shows on your screen. If you enjoy the Three Kingdoms story, whether it be through a game or novel or both (like me), then spending 15 or 20 bucks to get this game would be advisable. Enjoy.
